What You’ll Need

Step 1 – Demolding

  • Remove the side walls first.
  • Remove the tall wall that forms the back of the chair.
  • Gently move the chair to break the seal with the form.
  • When the chair is broken loose, it can be slid out of the form.
  • Clean up any ragged edges with diamond hand pads.
  • You can apply a sealer for additional protection from weathering.

Finished Chair

  • The finished chair weighs about 120 lbs., and even though it’s 1″ thick, it will easily support the weight of 2 grown adults.

Apply 3/4″ of structural backing over the face mix to complete casting the chair. Don’t skip the fiberglass scrim between structural layups.
